Event: The government of Eswatini announced a nationwide curfew from 1800 – 0500 that continues in effect. Deadly violence and clashes with fatalities have been reported. Some grocery stores and pharmacies are open but are experiencing long queues.
Routes and land borders are now open but may close as protests pop-up around the country.
Rapid COVID tests are available at a cost of 300 Rand (Rand only) for citizens departing the country at the land borders.
All flights out of KMIII International Airport are suspended until further notice. Embassy staff have been directed to remain home.
Internet service remains degraded. Cell phone service is still available, but data services (such as WhatsApp) will be spotty, if existent at all.

Actions to Take:
- Monitor local media for updates on changing conditions
- Expect communication disruptions; contact family and friends to let them know you are safe when able.
- If safe, stock up on groceries and water and then return and stay at home.
