The U.S. Embassy took its Jazz Appreciation Month event to Vuvulane

Do you know jazz and other artistic forms can be a vehicle for freedom of expression and social change?

The U.S. Embassy took its Jazz Appreciation Month event to Vuvulane, where local artists – Mandisa, TribeNew, Black Rhino, Qibho and Floewe – performed for the audience and engaged them on how to use music and arts as means of addressing social issues. Ambassador Peterson also talked about the history of jazz in the U.S. and how the Civil Rights Movement gave a global stage to American jazz pioneers that helped expose the truth about racial inequality in America. Thank you, Vuvulane, for welcoming us!
