Chargé d’Affaires Earl Miller

Chargé d’Affaires Earl Miller joined the U.S. Embassy Eswatini as Head of Mission in January 2023.  A retired career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service, he served as U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh from 2018 to 2022.  Chargé d’Affaires Miller served as U.S. Ambassador to Botswana and U.S. Representative to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) from 2014 to 2018 and Consul General in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2011 to 2014.  He has also served at U.S. embassies in El Salvador, Malaysia, Indonesia, Iraq, and India.  Chargé d’Affaires Miller is a graduate of the University of Michigan and a former U.S. Marine Corps officer.  He is the recipient of the Department of State’s Distinguished Service Award and Award for Heroism and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Shield of Bravery.
