Embassy staff member Bill Bridgeland reads “Julius, the Baby of the World,” an American children’s book written by Kevin Henkes, as part of our weekly story time program at the Mbabane Public Library. In addition to being a great children’s book, “Julius, the Baby of the World,” also helps children understand the issue of sibling rivalry and helps build their self-esteem. The children were captivated by the different voices Bill used to bring the characters to life. Reading out loud to children is one of the best ways to ignite a passion for reading within young people. It also supports language development and listening comprehension.
