Ambassador Peterson swears in 33 new Peace Corps Volunteers

On August 24, Ambassador Lisa Peterson welcomed and presided over the swearing-in ceremony of 33 new Peace Corps Volunteers in Swaziland. These Volunteers will work in communities throughout Swaziland on health and education, focusing on empowering Swazi youth to lead healthy and productive lives and improve literacy. These activities will be crucial for unlocking the enormous potential of the Swazi youth – because health and literacy are the key to prosperity and well-being. This latest group of Volunteers to Swaziland will join the ranks of the 1,700 U.S. Peace Corps Volunteers who have served in Swaziland since 1969.
